Dr. Doris Paine Roberts was born in Cumberland, Rhode Island, the fourth child of the late Emily & Frederick Paine on August 29, 1933. She lived in Lincoln Rhode Island from 1937 to 1951. On June 1, 1951, she married 2nd Lt. Louis A Roberts, Jr., a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1951. She is survived by her loving children: Wendy G. Candela of Thurmont, Maryland, Dorrie A. Leukhardt of San Diego, California, Karen L. Chow of Rainier, Washington, Craig S. Roberts and Robin S. Roberts, both from Honolulu, Hawaii.

Dr. Roberts has 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband Lt. Colonel (retired) Louis A. Roberts, Jr., U.S.A.F., who passed away on October 13, 2002, and two Sisters, Winifred Paine and Hazel B. Leavens. Dr. Roberts has 2 surviving brothers: Thomas G.Paine of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and George A. Paine, Sr. of Bellingham, Massachusetts and a surviving sister, Edythe L. Hand of Bellingham, Massachusetts and numerous nephews and nieces.

With a doctorate in Metaphysics and special powers of counseling and healing others, Dr. Roberts was a very special person in many ways...She lived in Hawaii when her husband retired and had a radio talk show called "Dr. Dris". Unfortunately, cancer took her life at Providence St Peters Hospital in Olympia , Washington on May 7th, 2009 while staying with her daughter, Karen. There is a special place in Hawaii where her remains are placed, in the home of her son, Craig Roberts.

Dr. Doris Paine Roberts is sadly missed by her brothers, Tom and George, and sister, Edythe. Her children, Wendy, Dorrie, Karen, Craig, and Robin have a special place in their hearts never to be filled by another… This place is full of tender love and is only yours, Our Mother...
